Also, Microsoft has said that it will be delivering two of the highly scalable editions of its SQL Server 2008 R2 which was formerly the code-named Kilimanjaro, during the first half of the year 2010 when it will be shipping the new version of its database server.

The company has also said that the platform will be integrating structured as well as the unstructured data from a number of sources and will be including SharePoint Server too. Fausto Ibarra who is the director of the product management of SQL Server has said that the R2 release is one down payment onto the information platform.
