The Sales Of Microprocessors Soared To Record Levels
20th November 2009
The atom processor of Intel has been of great help to the PC microprocessor makers for selling out record number of their chips during the third quarter. This processor is used in the netbooks. According to IDC, which is a market researcher, the overall value of these chips in the market though have fallen but they have helped to increase the revenue of the microprocessor makers. IDC has also said that the PC processor market has also made a tremendous recovery since the time it started in the current year.
From quarter to quarter the unit shipments have soared by some 23 percent as said by IDC. It has further said that the thing which is more important is that their sales have gone up with 0.3 percent or by about 220,000 units if we compare them to the previous year`s third quarter. These values have grown higher from the values of the previous year.
IDC has also said that probably the low cost of these atom processors is the reason behind the increase in the unit growth, but it has also said that the vendors were paid less on an average for the products they were having. Also the average sale prices per processor have dropped down by 7 percent when compared to their value during the second quarter and also from year to year they have dropped by 10 percent.
