Vista Codec Package 5.0: needed codecs for your system

Microsoft finished testing the new version of Vista Codec Package.
This product is slightly out of the general concepts, it also contains a core set of decoders for playback of most common video and audio formats. However, it has no players of its own which allows the user to choose by him/herself, gives an opportunity to play streaming video using the existing browsers and other tools supporting DirectShow.
The product integrates into the installation Windows distributive, which actually gives full support of multimedia directly from the box after installing OS.
There are two options available, meant especially for different architectures of x86 and x64 operating systems of Windows Vista. The latter implies a separate installer with additional components. In addition, now Quick Time components are provided separately.
