Waiting Time For TelePresence Translation Of Cisco
22nd November 2009
The real time translations of the virtual meetings of Cisco systems called TelePresence have come out to be much tougher than the expectations of the company. This was expected to be out in the year 2009 as one executive of the company has said so late at the end of the previous year.
This technology would be combining the features of speech recognition, the conversions from text to speech, and also the translation engine will be there. This has also been demonstrated during the month of December of previous year at the C-Scape conference of Cisco systems. The senior vice president of the emerging technology group of Cisco systems named Marthin de Beer has said that it had been expected by the company that this product will be open for sale during the second half of the current year with 20 languages present in the initial set. In that set there would not only be the western languages but also the Asian languages will be there. He also said that it would be possible for the users to view the subtitles rather than just hearing any digital voice.
But at the launch of big collaborations of Cisco, where 61 of the latest products were revealed, there was no discussion or nothing said about the TelePresence translation system of the company.
