Windows XP SP3 will add 10% of performance

29th November 2007

The company Devil Mountain Software Company, tested Vista SP1 last week and claimed that there was no improvement in performance after installing the update, has recently conducted comparative testing of Windows XP SP3. This time, the results showed that Microsoft can be well proud of the work done: tests have shown a 10% increase in performance compared with XP SP2. As Craig Barth pointed out, the technical director of the company, the package of updates SP3 is intended as a tool for removing the various mistakes and shortcomings of XP, while "an unexpected increase of speed will be an excellent bonus".
Microsoft has not yet commented on the results of testing XP SP3, but commented on the recent testing of Vista SP1. The software giant concluded that, anyway, SP1 is still under development and can be added with changes until the release. It can be assumed that after testing Devil Mountain Software the company of Microsoft squarely came to increasing Vista’s performance. But the variant is not excluded, in which the functions of increasing performance are planned to be hidden for the time of releasing Vista SP1 test builds.
