A Lab For Cloud Computing By IBM

It has been said by IBM that a new research lab of the company has been opened in Hong Kong and has been dedicated for the purpose of developing products as well as the services for the market of the cloud computing. On the whole, this lab will dedicate the resources in order to support the online offering called LotusLive by IBM. There are more than 18 million of the users on LotusLive as counted by the company. LotusLive provides web based access to instant messaging, emails, calendaring and also for many of the other collaboration tools. This service has the charges of $3.00 for a month for one user.
The company has also said that the Hong Kong center will be focusing on developing the best practices related to the research and will be for many of the issues which are related to the cloud computing. These issues include privacy, security as well as reliability. This is co located with the existing China development laboratory of IBM which encompasses more than 5,000 of the developers.
The general manager of IBM for Hong Kong and China Dominic Tong has said in one statement that it is the first such lab which is made with the purpose of serving as a global resource for collaboration services which are cloud based.
