Apple iMac Can Be Delayed Due To Heavy Sales
28th December 2009
The sales for the Mac desktop have been greater than what has been expected by the company and this could result in a delay of shipping 27 inch iMacs. Stephen Baker, who is an analyst for NPD group- a market researcher, has told that the sales of these desktops were 74 percent greater than the same period (in months of October and November) during the previous year at the retailers in the United States. The majority of the sales is made by the iMac and it is quite possible that Apple Inc. would not be able to ship the orders for the model of 27 inch, till the time Christmas has passed. Baker further said that it is considered to be a very strong number, and probably there can be some issues in the company in trying to bring that level of the product to be delivered.
Apple introduced this latest line of iMacs during the month of October and usually see is as a spur of the starting sales while releasing the updates for the product. According to NPD, the sales of the previous refresh of iMac, which was done in March, rose 38 percent during the first two months. Baker has also said that Apple is very good and popular for creating the interest in people as well as in generating a lot of buzz and the company is also very good at capitalizing on this.
