For AT&T the smartphones have been considered to be very good, because the users like the smartphones so very much and they hog the network space. To cater this particular problem, it has been said by AT&T that they will be controlling and curtailing the wireless usage of data really soon. The major culprit is no doubt the iPhone, which has become very much popular and it has made the users to download great amounts f data which has created trouble for the network and due to which the network has also been compromised.

This problems was made public at the investors conference. There, Ralph de la Vega, who is the chief executive of the AT&T mobility, has said that the network of the company in the city of New York as well as in San Francisco is not performing well and it is considered to be below the standards of the firm. The network has been upgraded by the company but smartphone usage and especially of iPhone, has been creating great rise in the data usage by the customers. He further said that only 3 percent of the users of smartphones are making use of 40 percent of the data traffic. He didn`t tell any exact method of how he would be cutting out the usage but said that it would be revealed to the media quite soon.
