Developers allowed to create extensions for Chrome
9th December 2008
Google will allow independent developers to create their own extensions for Google Chrome.
According to the manufacturer, this step will help their depreciated application to compete with its main rival Firefox on equal terms.
Remember, that Firefox owes its terrific popularity to compatibility with third-party applications that extend the browser`s functionality. Chrome users have been telling for a long time on the need of supporting add-ons.
Access to the necessary tools and software interfaces will be provided to members of the Chromium community. Google has not yet set a date for implementing such required functionality. However, according to an official document published on the community`s website, they are already working on it.
