1st December 2009
Three of the hospitals present in Colorado have fastened themselves in the exchange of information, which is used to share the records of the medical history. With the help of this binding, a much better type of the care can be given to the patients and it can also stop them from taking any tests repeatedly. The patients will get better facilities, no matter in which of these hospitals they go, as there will be a complete medical record of the patient with these hospitals.
With this program the hospitals named, Exempla healthcare, children`s hospital as well as the Kaiser Permanente Colorado will be united together. All of the medical records will be shared among these hospitals. These records include discharge results, medications, the results of the laboratory, reports coming from the radiology department and many more of the things will be shared among these hospitals. The software which would be used in these hospitals is made by Epic Systems and is called the EMR software. With the help of this software, this unity programs gets better and simpler too.
This unification program started off in the month of June with parts of the three hospitals and from that time it has entered into the full production of this merger. It can also be taken as the first major step, which would be uniting all of the hospitals on the state level.
