Lawsuit Filed By Nokia Against The LCD Makers

Nokia, the manufacturer of the handset, has sued the manufacturers of the liquid crystal displays. This is a lawsuit related to the price fixing against many of the companies associated with the making of the LCDs. These liquid crystal displays are used by Nokia in its phones.
There are eleven of the manufacturers included who have been sued by Nokia. The names of the manufacturers are Philips, Toshiba, Sharp, Samsung, Shungwa pictures tubes, Seiko Epson corp., LG , Tatung co., AU optronics as well we Hitachi. All of these manufacturers have been sued by Nokia, whose LCDs are used in the phones of Nokia.
The company Nokia, which belongs to Finland, has filed the lawsuit in the district court of United States in northern California. One of the similar complaints has also been filed by the company in the court of the United Kingdom.
It has been alleged by Nokia that with the consent of these manufacturers has caused an artificial kind of inflation of the prices in the market of LCD. This has been going on from the year 1996 to the year 2006. The papers which have been filed by Nokia in the court of California say that as a consequence of this conspiracy, the damages have come to Nokia.
