Nokia will contribute to building smart home
8th December 2008
Nokia is going to provide technologies for the so-called smart homes with its innovative solution Home Control Center. It is a kind of technology platform that can be used by third-party companies as a foundation for developing their own plug-and-play solutions, controlled from your home computer or a cell phone.
For example, HCC would allow homeowners to remotely manage power consumption, as well as provide remote access to various electronic devices (such as temperature sensors, cameras and move sensors). It is expected that the software platform will be closely integrated with different house systems (alarm system, heating and ventilation systems, etc…)
Unfortunately, so far the manufacturer does not provide any more information.
Nokia Smart Home will go on sale in Europe at the end of next year and will be available as separate packages, focused on specific tasks (alarm system, monitoring children or reducing electricity consumption).
