openSUSE 11.1: already available for downloading

openSUSE version 11.1 has been available for downloading since December, 18.
The project of openSUSE was organized by the company Novell in August 2005. The operating system is based on the distribution SUSE Pro. In order to comply with licensing purity, the software platform is completely free of all proprietary components.
The operating system openSUSE 11.1 is based on the core of Linux 2.6.27. According to the developers, compared with the previous version this one has more than 200 (!) functions; among major changes being enhanced installer, advanced administration tools, increased stability and security.
openSUSE 11.1 has managers of the desktop KDE 4.1.3 and Gnome 2.24.1, a package of office applications OpenOffice.org 3.0, Firefox 3.0.4, personalized search tool Beagle, email client Thunderbird 2.0.0.18, and programs for playing media files . In addition, the operating system includes tools for developers, in particular Python 2.6 and Mono 2.0.
