Jordan Weisman, the creative director of the playing department of Microsoft who has participated in the development of a number of games of internal studio - FASA Studio, has founded his own company, Smith & Tinker, which will also develop computer games. The developers give no details of their future plans, noting only that they plan to produce games with a powerful online regime.
It is worth while adding that FASA Studio was closed by Microsoft in September after the failure of the game Shadowrun issued in early summer this year. Shadowrun not succeeded in attracting the attention of the players, despite the fact that the game introduced the online mode for owners of the game consoles Xbox 360 and PC users via the service Games for Windows Live. Some former employees of FASA Studio ware transferred to other internal studios of Microsoft Game Studios, some were fired.
The founder of Smith & Tinker had already bought from the Microsoft rights to all trademarks, once belonged to FASA Studio. These include the rights on series MechWarrior, Shadowrun, Crimson Skies, and several others. However, the new studio is not yet planning to develop any games of the abovementioned series.
