Seadragon: Microsoft releases its first product for iPhone

The company Microsoft has released a mobile version of its utility Seadragon for viewing large images under Apple iPhone.
It is queer, that there is no utility version for Windows Mobile, not even in the future plans. Seadragon is designed to view high-resolution images via the net on iPhone. The package Seadragon is meant to help the user easily browse enormous satellite images and collections of photos posted on the site Photosynth.com, where unique Microsoft technologies can create complex panoramic images, or almost galleries of images of selected objects.
Also, the utility Seadragon allows you viewing large collections of images created using other technologies by Microsoft, such as PhotoZoom and Deep Zoom Composer.
At the moment, the utility Seadragon Mobile is on the stage of a preliminary version. The utility is being developed by the laboratory of Microsoft Live Labs. Nevertheless, the main and most surprising feature of this utility is that it is the first Microsoft product meant for a third-party mobile platform, having no version for Windows Mobile! Out of this fact we can only assume that even Microsoft does not care for its own â€œchildâ€. Well, it is be no surprise if pretty soon users would follow the giantâ€™s example. Yet, we would not hurry to bury the old famous Win Mobile, neverthelessâ€¦
