SpaceObServer 4.0.1: full information on local and network disks
24th December 2008
The company JAM Software has released a new version of its package SpaceObServer for comprehensive control of the hard disk under Windows.
In addition to a detailed analysis of the folders size on your local hard disks and network folders SpaceObServer can predict the amount of free space on disks, and also provides users with detailed logs of changes for discs with the file system NTFS.
To view data on the use of disk resources, SpaceObServer offers you a convenient interface in the style of Explorer. All information on the structure, size and properties of folders are saved into a SQL-database: there is the support of such popular DBMS as MS Access, MS SQL Server 2000/2005, ORACLE 9 / 10, MySQL and IBM DB2. All available information can be viewed at a hierarchical or tabular presentation, in the form of columnar charts, line charts and tree-like structures.
Collected data let you estimate the volume change of the free space, while search tools help you find the largest or oldest files on the disk. It also supports search for duplicate files. When displaying data from DBMS you can use filtering.
The package of SpaceObServer includes a module Remote Administration Client. The module of SpaceObServer Agent provides regularly scanning selected drives and folders saving results in the database.
To scan network resources users do not need to install agent modules to the server: all procedures are performed from local machines.
