Symantec updates Norton 360
23rd December 2007
Next week, Symantec begins testing the next important update for the program of complex computer protection Norton 360, the final version of which is scheduled for March next year. Major improvements concern security tools for work in Internet and protection against theft of confidential information. Also, Symantec will offer "intelligent firewall" which will identify threats based on their behavior. These features are already available in Norton Internet Security 2008, but Symantec wants to simplify managing them. Norton 360 2.0 will increase the list of supported devices, such as a iPod.
Additional protection of web-surfers will be provided by a new feature Canary, blocking attempts to produce automatic downloading malicious modules via a browser directly from sites. There are also plans for cleaning and eliminating errors in the registry. Norton 360 2.0 will include the technology Symantec Online Network for Advanced Response (SONAR) for detecting new threats by analyzing their behavior and Norton Identity Safe is a program of protection against phishing attacks. Prices for Norton 360 will remain unchanged - $ 79.99 for the version with a license for 3 computers.
