The Revenues Of The Global Semiconductor Market For The Year 2009 Have Decreased

A firm of the market research has said that the industry of the semiconductors is now moving on the track for posting a decline in the revenue for the sixth time only during the previous twenty five years. According to the preliminary estimates made by Gartner, the sales throughout the world for the year 2009 make a total of $226 billion in the year 2009, which is a drop of 11.4% from the revenue of the previous year, which has also made the year 2009 to be one of the worst years for the semiconductor industry since the start of the dot com during the year 2001. Also, the year 2009 is considered to be the first year for the industry which has brought declines for 2 years in a row. The revenues in the year 2008 also fell down by 4.4% from the revenues of 2007, because of the economic recession which started during the fourth quarter of the year 2008.
Gartner further said that the vendors were not feeling any kind of the impact caused by the economic recession, or also by the current recovery. It said that those companies who were selling off to the makers of the PCs were the first ones to observe the betterment in the sales during the year 2009, and after that were the mobile phones. The IT spending by the businesses had the deepest of all the impacts caused by the recession and it still recovering very slowly.
