Why they fired Jeff Herschman?

The administration of one of the largest gaming sites, GameSpot.com has finally decided to disturb the prolonged silence and comment on the recent dismissal of one of their oldest specialists Jeff Herschtman, who had been working in the editorial of GameSpot for nearly eleven years.
Remember, that the news of the dismissal of one of the ideologues of the resource spread last week. According to the assumptions of most readers of the site and colleagues from other gaming resources, the dismissal was the result of pressure from one of advertisers on GameSpotâ€™s owners, CNET Networks Entertainment company. Presumably, the conflict was caused by, so to speak, not entirely friendly review of Herschtman for the game Kane and Lynch: Dead Men, the publisher of which, Eidos, is exactly the company being the biggest advertiser of GameSpot.
Representatives GameSpot argue that Gershtman was fired solely because of internal reasons, but they refused them, referring to the corporate policy and Californiaâ€™s law.
Herschtmanâ€™s authorities recognize that they were a little upset at his review for Kane and Lynch, but negative feedback has appeared on the site many times before, however, it never led to the dismissal of employees.
In GameSpot they also deny any connection between the dismissal of Herschtman and the recent retirement from the site of the former head producer Tim Tracy, a close friend of Herschtman. Anyway, the true causes of the resignation of one of the most successful GameSpotâ€™s editors are not fully ascertained. Most surprising is the fact that Herschtman himself has not yet commented on his dismissal.
