The AOpen COM5232 and DRW8800 drives offer a great mix of performance and value, a combination that AOpen is well known for. The DRW8800 stands out as a nice buy for those who need the extra capacity of DVD writeable media, along with the high-end 8X write speeds.
The only issue is its lack of dual layer DVD support. The COM5232 is another superb entry in the Combo Drive market, and with 52X CD-R and 32X CD-RW write speeds, only the most particular of enthusiasts would pass it by.
