Not the resident driver under the PC operating system installed (Windows, DOS device driver). To upgrade the firmware will change and improve the compatibility and performance of the opto-drive. The downloaded upgrade program still need to be transferred to your PC running the new firmware code into the flash memory of the opto-drive. Some of the upgrade programs can only run under pure DOS operating system environment, some can directly (in compatibility related) under Windows environment take place.
