SharpReader is an aggregation tool for RSS and ATOM feeds. It will use any RSS version, the ATOM 0.3 and 1.0 versions, as well as Dublin core, xhtml : body, and content : encoding, and many more. You can configure your input stream to feed as threads, connecting a number of items one after another. SharpReader employs a thread recognition scheme that is advanced so that it knows the connectors and can identify same link threads, continuation threads, external link threads, and also threaded comments. You can arrange for customized categories to be the storage for feeds that are group and identified specifically. You can set refresh rates and timeout criteria for your feeds, specific to a feed or to a category. The category settings will include any defaulted feeds that are included in the category. You can include a feed link into your categorized feed by dragging and dropping the link, or you can cut and paste the URL. You have an integrated feedster feature to make searches of weblogs and news page sites based on specific search criteria. You can configure a notification alert when new info is being brought into your tool. You can automatic or set up manual authentication for proxy servers. SharpReader will minimize resources used in getting feeds through employ of HTTP Conditional GETs, as well as using the encoding for Gzip and deflate. Its use of the system tray is minimal, saving more resources. You can have or turn off alert popups.
