I looked at many alternative search and replace tools under Windows XP before choosing Actual Search snd Replace (ASaR). One of my needs was to operate on a 22 MByte file. ASaR did this with no problem, making 500,000 replacements in a few minutes, with no errors and automatically saving a backup and copy of the edited file. Highly recommended; ASaR is fast, easy to use, and excellent value (I bought it after first use).
