Program attempted repeatedly to access the internet. Froze up over and over. Spybot S&D was recognized and Cliprex shut off the monitor while continuing the attempt to log online! Had to completly reboot many times due to freezing up. Would not uninstall until I attacked it from DOS. AVOID this piece of junk. Full of spyware!

While installing it I got lots of bad warnings concerning changes in my registry - obviously tries to install data miner and even a dialer...

Well, at least it reads the DVD with a very basic UI, and an acceptable quality... without the following i would have rated it positive: Be sure to have your anti-virus active and updated to block the installation of the trojan, then uninstall 3-4 new programs installed (if you've a bunch, i suggest you'd write down the list of what you have in the installed programs list), then run an Ad-Aware scan to remove the 3 spywares.

My big mistake to install this "free" DVD player. As I speed read some of the install agreements, I notice several spy progams that were to be install also. But it was stated simply these programs could be removed if you did not want them. Once unstalling the spyware via the program's install function, spybot, ad-aware and some files manually, I could no longer get IE to work, thus lost my cable internet connection for this machine connected to a router. Does anyone know how to correct this problem? DO NOT USE OR INSTALL THIS PROGRAM!!!

IT WILL CHANGE ALL YOUR NETWORK SETTINGS, I HAD TO RE-INSTALL MY BROWSER, IT INSTALLED ALL KIND OF SPYWARE, A COMPLETE TRIP TO HELL, MY MACHINE GOT SLOW, IT IS TRUE THEY PROVIDED AN INSTALL FEATURE BUT YOU HAVE KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING...JUST GO A SPEND SOME CASH ON A GOOD SOFTWARE....

This is such an evil program. It does not work well, and almost impossible to uninstall. Even after uninstalling it, my system (XP) won't stay up overnight due to resource depletion. cmd.exe crashes after a while. Sure hope someone can come up with a solution for recovering my damanged system. My Trendmicro with the latest virus database could not ferret out the bad files though. (2005/05/26)

Cliprex DS DVD Player trashed my machine. I can't download anything from the internet now (not even Microsoft plug-ins or the setup application to reinstall my internet browser after I uninstall it!). My computer is slowed down a lot, and Cliprex even went through and converted ALL of my media files into Cliprex files! My normal media programs can't properly run my files anymore! Cliprex is one of the worst things that has ever happened to my computer! I'm trying to reverse all of the damage, but unfortunately there's a lot I don't know. If anyone knows anything about how to cure a machine that has been touched by Cliprex, please e-mail me at ngachugu@yahoo.com to give me tips. Thank you. NEVER INSTALL CLIPREX!!!

As others have comments it is a bit of a pig to install, and it does install 'adware'. This is the price you pay to get it free. If you get through the pain of installation, you end up with a very useable DVD player. If you have a slow PC, then this is almost certainly the best DVD player for you. It gives smooth playback on a Pentium P2 500Mhz PC with a pretty basic graphics card. Other DVD players are either jittery, pixelated, break up sound or otherwise unusable. You will probably need to install the codecs too

Kaspersky (virus scanner) listed it as an Adware. I did not install it and, based on the current reviews, wouldn't recommend it.

First and foremost, this software comes bundled with third party programs in order to "keep it free". Immediately upon installation of this program (along with the third party ones) AVG notified me of 3 infected files, one of them a trojan, contained in one of the three third party tag alongs. Second, i was looking for a program that would simply play a dvd that was put into a DVD +/_ drive. It did not do that. It only wanted me to open files (avi, mpeg, etc). That is what VLC is for. This software is bunk.
