Using 1.0, i made my first rip and was pleased with both quality and speed. So i still use this app and have made about 10 rips with it.
I have experienced a few app crashes , but all have been during the setup, and none have been during the rip. So these crashes do not effect the movie output at all.
Ample sound options, and processor selection options, resizing options, and so on. Using the newest divx 5. something, ive ripped a 1:44 movie in 3.4 hours using a higherbitrate divx 1 pass.
My favorite option is the ability to rip with only enough room on your hd to fit the ripped movie. (about 700mb, to 1g) .. It does this by playing the movie directly to ram, and encoding it off of there in chunks that you set (i used 125MB) ... This makes it so that your dvd drive dosent need to spin nonstop. It fires up and reads the dvd every few minutes for about a 10 second period.
The subtitle selection and adding is simpler than other apps ive tried. You have a dropdown menu with subtitles, and if you select one before ripping, it grabs the subs great.
ImTOO DVD Ripper is well worth its cost. enough optiosn for pros, yet easy enough(without diving into the options) for a beginner. Then that beginnner can experiment with the options and get deeper into it.
I do have a few minor complaints, but those arent going to effect the common user. They are merely display / subtle performance related and are going to the developers.

I used the imTOO DVD to iPOD Converter and had extreme difficulty getting it to work. When ripped and put on the my 60GB video iPOD, the movie copied, but once it stared to play 15 or 20 seconds into use, the sound stopped, and the video froze. The Help or documetation is non existent. Regrettably, imTOO's customer support leaves a lot to be desired, unless you are happy waiting more than 48 hours only to read excuses about how busy they are, or that they are on a 7 Day holiday. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT AT ALL.

Rubbish - never rips the full movie! just stops part the way through and I have no limits on the file size or number of files it uses. DO NOT BUY
