I was really impressed. I had a complex application that used another non-JDO object database, and was able to port it to using ObjectDB in five minutes - and that includes waiting for it to download & reading the manual. Unlike other free JDO implementations (e.g. fastobjects_j1) this is easy to program and very quick to get running.
