Very disappointed with this product. Purchased it, wanted to test it, only sends IP on the machine, not of the ISP or any traceroute info needed to phsyically locate a stolen computer. Contacted Chris(the owner of PCTracker) and he failed to prove that it would work. Finally refunded my money after hassling him. Don't bother....

We had high hopes for this product, and purchased the $30 version. That version could not be installed. Installation required us to enter a password that PAL failed to send us, and PAL ignored our email requests. Good job to PayPal for processing the refund. Next we got the Lite (free) version. It installed fine. The only password needed was one you could set yourself. I could find no documentation to compare the paid and unpaid versions, but my guess if your laptop actually gets stolen, then you need to pay them for assistance at that point, if you were using the free (Lite) version. We're giving the Lite version a negative review because it is next to useless. If your computer is behind a router, it fails to send the correct IP address. It ought to send the ISP-supplied IP, but instead sends the router's IP (e.g., 192.168.1.1). It'd be hard enough to get an ISP to trace an IP address for you, but impossible to track down a PC at 192.168.*.*. We came up with our own free solution -- one unlikely to be detected.

I put on a previous version; moved so had email address changed and can not find any support on how to have the email alert address changed. I would love to remove it from my computer and can't even figure that out. No forums that I can find to get advice, stuck with it so it appears. Think twice before proceeding to use it.
