Spam Inspector does not work with with Eudora 6 as it claims. It keeps opening and shut down my Eudora. And Cnet gave it an excellent mark?

DO NOT INSTALL! It absolutely crashes Microsoft Outlook and takes forever sometimes to click "Is Spam". Then when you go to uninstall it, the uninstall feature halts on the first bit, leaving you with fragmented garbage all over your registry and an Outlook that doesn't work. The ironic thing is spam isn't that destructive, as annoying as it can be. I would rather put up with deleting spam every day than have a malfunct computer and Outlook that doesn't work, after all it only takes 30 seconds every day to delete spam. So my advice is DOOOOOOONT GET THIS PIECE OF WOLF IN SHEEPS CLOTHING BECAUSE IT TRULY TRULY SUCKS!!!

A good product, after a few days of "training" it blocks most of the spam. However, there are three problems with it: 1. It does not work with Outlook XP (Outlook 2002) after installation of the Service Pack 3 (SP3) for Office XP. This is obviously a bug that should be fixed. 2. It will download spam definition file on each boot up of the PC if your Locale setting is different from English language. This may take lots of your internet resources. 3. Giant Company, the developer provides very poor support if any. I requested technical support and help on the above two problems and received useless formal replies that seem to be generated automatically. Actually Spam Inspector DOES NOT work with the updated (latest) version of Outlook XP. Spam Inspector fails to check spam and filter email after I installed Service Park 3 for Office XP. After installatiom of SP3, Outlook blocks access to inbox, so SI is not able to perform filtering. I sent my request for fix to the Giant Company, developer of the SI, but have not received any reply. I would much appreciate it if you could request the fix as well. From my previous experience with this company they never provided a good support in the past. Regards, Dr Boris Golembo bgolembo@optushome.com.au

Don't buy this product! I concur with others - the support is useless There are also sufficent serious bugs e.g. deletes mail from your server despite telling it not to in outlook express!

You need to know that Spam Inspector 4.0 and IHATESPAM 4.0 are the same program. Neither program will support Secure Password Authentication for MSN Mail using POP3 and neither program will support MSN Hotmail running Windows 98.

I use Eudora 6.1. On first install under WinXP I found that if 2 users were logged in, my disk started accessing continuously about once a second. I used Sysinternals "Process Explorer" to look at what was happening. I found that siMailProxyServer.exe was being loaded and unloaded in sync with the disk accesses. I sent the above info with a lot more to GIANT Company Tech Support and got nothing but form letters in return. After uninstal/reinstall a popup window appeared when Eudora was opened saying that "SI Initialization phase 1 complete ". Spam Inspector got stuck in an unbreakable loop with the above popup happening every time Eudora was opened. I removed Spam Insector from my system bcause of these bugs and the lack of any meaningful response to my detailed help requests.

Terrible software and even worse customer service. Contacted customer service over 2 weeks ago stating Spam Inspector cause system to register a server timeout when trying to receive an email with an attachment. Received a response that the software does not block attachments. Thank you and please let us know if you have any comments or questions. Problem is they never answered my original problem. I have sent them the error log from their software which shows Spam Inspector receiving a server timeout. But still have not been contacted by them even after repeated attempts on my part

I do not recommend Spam Inspector. First, their support stinks. You can only fax or email Giant software to get support. I have emailed them twice to try to get help. Only once did I get a response, and it did not resolve my issue. My reply indicting that I needed further help was unanswered. Second, I have had problems with Spam Inspector suddenly not checking automatically for spam. It just randomly turns itself off. this has happened on computers running Windows XP with Outlook 2000, 2002, and 2003. Lastly, the option to turn off the text in the Spam Inspector toolbar does not work. When it is running correctly, Spam Inspector does filter out spam well, though it does take a few weeks for it to learn to do it well.

Microsoft bought Spam Inspector - Giant Software. Is there a way to uninstall the SP3 - should I do so in the Add Remove programs?

I got spam inspector to work in Outlook 2002 with SP3 by going to: Help About MS Outlook Diasbled Items Then enabel Spam Inspector.

Considering MS bought Giant the support on this product is non existent. It does not work well with Outlook 2003, and does not work at all with XP SP3. Don't bother!
