Technicly speaking this antivirus kicks some but. Virus detection is great, user support is excellent, GUI is clean and simple so whats no to like.? avast! Rocks...

PLEASE DO NOT download!!! It will do nothing than utterly freeze the speed of your computer...a complete waste of time and not exactly the be all, end all of computer protection. Very deceiving.

Did have NAV2004 installed, but due to their upgrade policy I decided it was time to change. Tried the home edition and this one really found viruses which NAV didn't. I need something reliable so I bought the Pro-version and I love it. Finally my PC is clean. Updating program and viruslist is done automatically. Configuring with e-mail client is a piece of cake. :-) What do you want more?

I use Download.com almost every day and this is the first comment i've ever made on anything, but it's for a reason. This is a fantastic anti-virus that found 25 virii nad trojans on the first run, that I had no idea were on my system (because Mcafee never picked them up!). Very highly recommended.

I wanted to replace McAfee suscription and decided to give this a shotgot in the process found something positive. I had more McAfee virus updates and Avast caught something soon after installation! Of course I was immediately impressed. A nice replacement for McAfee which I didn't even like or trust and hated how annoying McAfee was. This program definitely earned its keep on my computer. Very stable and effective so far. I use free online virus scans to monitor the effectiveness of this program and so far so good.
