I had high hopes, but ended up very disappointed with this software. First, it never worked right - the audio and video got out of sync on about 50% of my DVD's. Second, the support sucked. Third, their "Money Back Guarantee" is a lie - they never gave it back despite numerous messages from me. Finally, I discovered that their executable had a Trojan embedded in it. BE WARE - DO NOT BUY THIS SOFTWARE!

I am having the same issue of the audio and video out of sync when converting DVD to AVI. Sent two emails to their support and have not heard a word. Frustrating and disappointing. Avoid this software.

I'm having the same problem too. It seems the sync issue occurs when you try to convert a home DVD recording to one file, for instance a movie you record onto DVD from your cable TV. The longer the movie runs the worse the sync problem gets. I have contacted isofter at least 8 times. They returned 2 emails. One with a different download which did no good. Then they ignored me like the plague. Until they fix that bug or put an adjustment in the software I'm afraid you'll have to stick to commercial DVD's which don't seem to be a problem. I have had some luck with the home burns by saving them in chapters or smaller files which is a pain. It seems isofter DVD Ripper Platinum is more of Rippoff than a Ripper! I will send them this comment and the link to this review page that they might see those who are dissatisfied!

Stupid smiley face is a default! I sent again with frowny. Here's another to cancel out my mistake which isn't as bad as isofter's mistake in selling software that half works without a fix!

The worst customer service I have ever dealt with ever. Basically a take the money and run company. BEWARE! There is no phone number to call and when they cash in they will not be found. A total horror show. Again Beware!

Same problem as everybody else. The software gets halfway through converting the file and then says it has encountered a problem and it needs to close. I have now sent three emails to customer support and received no response, despite requesting help asap (it is quite important - I have films I desperately need to post to Youtube for potential employers to look at). There is no customer helpline. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for conversion software.

Dont buy from ISofter!! Every try I get a "have problem and cannot continue"message and program shuts down.No service at all.No reply to over 10 emails.They take your money and run.A real rip off!

An older version had more bugs than an insect zoo. And keeping the subtitles off was an on-again/off-again situation. But I chalk all of this off as being the result of this being a software that performs illegal actions and therefore is illegitimate. Poor if any tech support another result.

Unfortunately, this software is no longer in production (the "current" version I downloaded is three years old), and doesn't work in Windows 7. Emails to the author have been ignored, and yet he still appears to be accepting money from this unsupported product. I since downloaded Handbrake and it has many more features and is free. Don't get ripped off by iSofter!

After purchasing the download they never sent the code to activate it and despite three emails no one has ever gotten back to me nor have they given me a refund as requested. This is a scam, pure and simple. Don't get burned like I did.

I think iSofter DVD Ripper Platinum is pretty good, and bought it even. Not that I'm a video nut, but it has an YouTube output option, which saves a lot of trial and error, and squeezed a 375 MB DVD file down to about 40MB and the quality looked fine to me. Also I had an issue with the version I downloaded (I paid for Platinum and they sent me a link to Deluxe) but that was sorted out satisfactorily in less than 24 hours by their support. Nice interface too. 9 out of 10.
