Publisher description for Netscape 9.0 Beta 3
Netscape is a browser that was built for AOL and in use for decades. It is no longer supported, officially. AOL has stopped development, but Netscape is still available for use by longtime adherents and for those who wish to use it as an alternative to whatever they currently use. Netscape, however, is a well-endowed browser, with a full suite of the tools and capabilities you would expect from any browser. Controls for Net security, parental controls for child protection and security, threat security included and transparent integration with essentially any current security and threat protection tool. You get real time scanning of pages returned from web searches and on any file you download, and in each case you get warnings before you access the actual page or file. On the parental controls, Netscape gives you the ability to build profiles for your children that Netscape uses to ward off special threats from predators and keeps the page retrievals at the security and rate level you set. RSS – Real Simple Syndication – is made easy by Netscape that includes a reader so you do not need another tool for RSS actions. Netscape has preemptive threat scanning and warning features for you. Your profile can be configured for the bookmarking and pass-card security. Netscape has the now standard feature of multiple pages open in a single window using its Tabbing feature. This saves on screen space usage and lets you organize the pages as you wish.
