You have worked hard to create your own list of emails for your customers. They want to receive your emails and you are ready to send emails to them, but how?

Most of the time, you will be severely limited by your ISP. They only allow you to send 300 to 500 emails per day. You can subscribe to one of the pay for Email service providers around, but they are also very limited and are not cheap. Moreover, most of them have very few, shared, overloaded servers. Using this service will make your delivery slower and if this server's address becomes blocked as a result of somebody else's fault, you will be blocked as well.

What if you want to send periodic updates to your existing customers. Thousands or even tens of thousands of emails per day? You do not have time to check and worry every day. Most of small to medium businesses are in this situation and it becomes very wise and cost effective to have your own email server. Having your own SMTP server will solve these problems, however you will need to administer your own SMTP server yourself.
