NEWT Freeware is back!

The first version NEWT Freeware, a free network inventory tool, was release in December 2003 and hasn't been updated often until recently. Our commercial product, NEWT Pro, had used up all our resources. But we've made numerous changes in our development process and are now able to keep our freeware product updated to closely match releases of NEWT Pro. This renews our commitment to the freeware community and to those who are unable to afford paid software.

New major improvements include:

* New scan methods allow for extreme scan speed. Scan 100 computers in under 5 minutes.

* Scan errors due to WMI misconfigurations are almost non-existent.

* All data is compressed, greatly reducing network bandwidth use to just 25 kilobytes per second each way.
