Max DVD to AVI Converter program icon

DVDs are quite expensive, hence you need to have a good way of backing up your DVD files. This tool will help you to convert your DVDs to AVI format while retaining the original high quality. You can also use it to convert the DVDs to Divx very easily. You will be able to adjust nearly all the output parameters so that your converted files can best suit the device you expert to play them on. It works faster than its predecessor because of the advanced audio and video codecs. You can use it to back up your DVDs to your hard drive.

BTW, The first review here (John) is an exact copy of another one in download.com. Once more, he (or she) is talking about another thing or is really sweating the competition.

this program does the job pretty well, but none of my videos ever run smoothly when the camera scrolls around, as in scenery parts. otherwise, picture and sound are near perfect. wish this had more features too, because you can only rip a video in one of two resolutions, 352X288 or 760X576. the files also tend to be rather large. about 6MB per min at low resolution and 8-9MB per min at high resolution. still the best i can find.

I bought version 4 from the link below (it seems there are different webpages with the same product). http://www.dvd-converter.com/ The product works great for the price, and accepts all the available codecs in your computer, even 3ivx. The results are top quality but it is hard to make the program start ripping the ifo file when the DVD is copyright protected (needs to run the DVD player for a while). I have seen many negative comments in download.com and I guess they are talking about another product or they are pissed off competitors.

You only get 10 minutes of vid. *sigh* oh well it is pretty easy to use even if you can't convert a big enough file to really be useful.
