Publisher description for PictureScaler

PictureScaler program icon

PictureScaler is a batch conversion tool for reducing pictures in size (scaling down). It is especially useful when you need to send some digital photos via email or put them on your website. Main Features: * Scales an image or a batch of images dropped from the Finder/Explorer * Specify the new width or height of the images (even according to longest/shortest edge which is handy when you are scaling portrait and landscape images at the same time) * Or, scale the image as a percentage of the original size * Provides the option to overwrite the original image, create a copy of it, or copy it to another location * Set the target file size when saving JPEGs * Is able to convert between the various image formats supported by QuickTime * It can also run without QuickTime, though supporting less image formats * Scaling Presets can be edited or saved and your last preset used is remembered * Pictures can be processed from the drop window, file/open menu or by dropping on the application icon * Rotate images in 90° increments * Lossless JPEG rotation (no quality degradation) * Option to keep EXIF data * Create a thumbnail icon (which allows a quick preview in some applications, e.g. the Finder) Potential Uses: * Reduce the size of digital or scanned photos before sending them via email * Reduce the size of digital or scanned photos before putting them on your website * Rotate photos from landscape to portrait and vice versa * Convert between different image formats * Add thumbnails to a bunch of photos someone has just sent you
