K-Lite Codec Pack Basic comprises a codec package intended to encode and decode various audio/video formats to ensure that you can play all the movies you download from the Internet. K-Lite Codec Pack Basic is a light edition of K-Lite Codec Pack Full and includes the necessary codec's for playing formats such as MKV, AVI, MP4, OGM, and FLV. K-Lite Codec Pack Basic is a collection of VFW or ACM codec's, DirectShow filters and tools. Codec's and DirectShow filters are needed for encoding and decoding (playing) audio and video formats.
