Publisher description for Learn Vocabulary with Word Parts: TANGIA
With Tangia, students at home or in the classroom learn vocabulary through a study of English words with Greek and Latin etymologies, of which 80-85% of the more difficult English words are composed. With each set of key prefixes and roots, students move through eight different learning modes, culminating in a challenging game at the end. One or two students can log in at each computer station and full data tracking exists for all of their scores. There are two units (Greek and Latin) with 10 lengthy parts in each. What else makes Tangia so cool for the classroom? -Tangia covers tons of Latin- and Greek-based word parts so students can potentially see and figure out thousands of new words they've never even seen before! Students can work cooperatively since one or two can log in together. (simply use an audio splitter for two sets of headphones). Students' scores can be accessed and printed out from any computer (if you're running Tangia from a server). Teachers can quickly see, change, or delete student information on the fly. Students can return to where they left off if they have to end a session before finishing it. With Tangia, students get immediate feedback, corrected answers, and total interaction. Just buy the license and have the key code emailed to you. The key code will unlock all parts of the program (which you've already downloaded if you've downloaded the demo). Also available on CD-Rom with free shipping. License: full classroom or lab use for one instructor with an unlimited number of students.
