Via Galactica - an exciting space exploration and trading game. Starting the game as a downtrodden merchant with a small ship and a minimum of equipment, it's your task to become a rich galactic explorer. Navigate your way across the huge galaxy, fulfilling ever more demanding tasks, kitting your ship out with special equipment, avoiding pirates (or even becoming one) and recruiting a crew to help you out. Three difficulty levels, game save and load, extensive help file included. Features: - Trading in nine different cargos, with some illegal cargos at certain types of system, and warehouse facilities at most systems - A huge range of equipment and objects which you can use to improve your ship - As you earn more money, increase your ship size to carry more cargo and equipment - Combat with pirates, aliens and (if you get into trouble) the police - Customisable galactic chart to plot your way across the galaxy of over 100 (and in difficult-rated games, over 200) galaxies - Full banking and insurance facilities to protect your cash gains - Crew members who can improve your four skills, or passengers who will pay you to take them to another system. - Training facilities at some systems to improve your skills or those of your crew. - Different government types which form four different alliances for their mutual benefit (and occasionally yours), have different tax rates and different attitudes to trafficking in illegal cargo - A range of other miscellaneous missions, tasks and quests - Star Gates at some systems to enable you to travel quickly from one part of the system to another - Ship's Log to keep track of trading and combat activity - The occasional disaster - Three difficulty levels - Game save and load - Extensive help file
