Editor's review Astral Tournament

Use different creatures and spells to control a magical plane in Astral Tournament. You can play either against your computer or another person. Each game starts with points of 50 lives. The power of your spells will either increase or decrease depending on the actions you take. Cast spells to overpower your opponent as you protect your life number in turn. Every creature has a life number and attack strength. Whenever the life number of a creature reaches 0, it will die, and this is what you should be aiming at your opponent. The game features great graphics and an interesting combat interface.

Overall, an enjoyable game. Similar to MTG, except only about 50 'cards' and you get a random deck each time. The random deck thing is annoying, you cant develop around your personal stratagy and sometimes get really screwed during tournaments. The round-robin, points based tournament was a truly poor decision on the part of the developer. Creative, skin-of-the-teeth wins are squashed in the points system. A standard 'loser go home' bracket would have been nice. And, some creature are a bit too strong. I win every match in which I am dealt a Phoenix and any life spell (Wall of souls is perfect). But, desite its flaws, AT is a truly fun game. I wish more developers would get into the CCG rip-off genre.

This has to be one of the best computer card games I have ever played. There is only 2 problems I have with the program. 1. The computer can use unregistered restricted cards. And, #2, Its not free. But yah cant win'em all. Its addicting! and did i mention it was fun?
