The scriptek.com Spam Proofer is a small, single-executable utility that 'encodes' your email address in a form spammers' 'email collecting robots' can't read, while visitors can click the mailto: link and email you just as easily as before; they'll never know the difference. The extra features, such as customizing the text displayed for the link (default is just your email address), and even using JavaScript to show descriptive text in the visitor's 'browser status bar' when their mouse is over the link, make this program suitable for comfortable everyday use while building a website. The program is written using the Perl programming language, and compiled using Perl2Exe into a stand-alone Windows .exe executable file. Just double-click to run, no install required.
