VentaFax & Voice 6.8.161.401 Free download

Ventafax worked initially, then failed. The voices are so garbled, they couldn't be understood. Technical support is non-existent, although promised. I was told to read the online documentation, and there's nothing else to do. "Your modem isn't supported." When I asked for a refund, these Russians acted like they didn't understand what I was asking for, and hid behind "online documentation." STAY AWAY unless you want to be stuck with junk.

This is a great piece of software however the company selling it are rip off merchants. Normally with any software you download it's easy to re-request the original registration code. However not with this company. You lose the code then there attitude is buy the product again. In my case I had the invoice, reference numbers, they confirmed they had my purchase on their system but refused point blank to re-issue the registration code. I therefore can not recommend that anyone buys their products, as this lack of customer service is simply disgraceful.

I found this Ventafax software to have boundless poorly documented capabilities that are totally without an intuitive feel, at least for the typical US user. For instance, I spent half an hour trying to figure out how to record a conversation, playing with a dozen or more settings and controls before giving up in frustration. The software has tremendous potential judging by the announced features, steady stream of improvement announcements and available user configuration options but it has a poorly executed and all but undocumented user interface. As far as support goes, US users have to cope with a language barrier because the software was written in the Ukraine and is supported from there as well (the GUI & skimpy documentation are translated for US distribution). Users also have to contend with a 24 hour email response delay due to an 8 hour time zone difference and the total lack of telephone support. Until Ventafax establishes a US presence, with English speaking customer service and support that will communicate by telephone, this software should be avoided by all but the most adventurous users with money to burn or the ability to converse in its “native language”.

Leonid Kluev (the owner of VentaFax) presents his software to potential buyers in such a way so as to lead them to believe that they can use it for voicemail applications akin to that used by medium size companies at the following web page: http://www.ventafax.com/multiline.html, and that hence, anyone who would want to use it for a relatively small voice mailbox application (e.g., a 3 or 4 simple verbal menus with approximately 7 mail boxes) will have no difficulty obtaining the purported results from his software. Leonid Kluev knows that the reasoning of potential buyers goes like this: “If some companies are paying up to $1299 for this software, it follows to reason that this software works”. The FAX portion of his software works, but the voicemail portion contains numerous bugs that render it useless for anything other than very unsophisticated voicemail applications. Which you are not going to find out if you use the 30 day trial home version; because the amount of time required to write a script file for Leonid Kluev’s software for several mail boxes with multiple menus is tremendous, as you have to learn a new programming language, which no one in one’s right mind will do just to test his software for 30 days. Leonid Kluev knows this.
