StrongDC++ is a popular freeware, which allows users to interchange files fast in the direct- connect - network. Developed as an upgrade to DC++ it has a lot of additional features making it very user friendly. Because it was written under the GNU/GPL (General Public License), web enthusiasts can download the source -code and change it according to their special needs. This Client supports separate downloading, which allows you to e-share the files without any limitation. The installation of this smart utility is easy and fast. You only have to download and unpack the Zip- file, to copy the content in an index and double click on the exe-file. It?s setup is also extremely simple- you only must go to File Settings, or click on the icon in the toolbar and you will see how the settings come up.
Pros
The option for the Safe Segmented Downloading, which StrongDC++ presents, allows you to download the same file at the same time from various users without damaging the file. This feature improves the download speed dramatically and is a part of that much more trustworthy. Segment-position and size are defined through the file size and the Chunks Speed. Thanks to the partial file sharing features you can download parts of files which are down-or uploaded at the time by other users, this improves the data traffic as well as the download speed drastically. Obviously the file also expands through the network. The Download / Upload Speed Limiter avoid a full line usage rate and leave some speed for the web access. The option named Automatic Slow Downloads Disconnecting shuts down the connection to the sources which are not helpful and finds on the other hand new ones. With other words, if the download speed slows down to much while the segmented download gets to slow; the source is cut of to avoid unnecessary slot usage. A part of that StrongDC++ is fun and can be personalized easily: You can fix your preferred sounds, you can chance color scheme and icons, you can choose the option for showing up the pop-up balloons and you can use also emotions.

Cons
Some older versions of AVG Antivirus possibly detect this utility as a virus and even delete it. In the case that your utility setup is erroneous its assignment of memory space goes up very fast. At certain times DC++ could, because of the same reason, function erroneously and can be even unreliable, in that case you shouldn't use it inside your LAN.
Summary
Over all StrongDC++ is a superb file-sharing - utility with a lot of smart features and additional bonus compared to the old version. It is possibly not the most popular or fastest....even not the most powerful ...but it has its own unique and attractive advantages.
