Publisher description for FileExtractor
FileExtractor allows you to recover deleted information from any storage device. It has two operational modes; a normal mode which is easier to operate and recovers the deleted information by selecting the source drive and the output directory, and an expert mode which allows you to select the type of files to be recovered - the list of files include cr2, crw, winevt, thm, jpeg, wave, gif, bmp, and png. In both cases the program requires you to create an image file of the disk to be recovered because the information is retrieved from the image file and not from the source disk, so you need to have enough disk space to create it. The disadvantage here is that if the source disk is big, the waiting time can be really tedious. Besides that, the program has two big disadvantages: if the command window that is shown on the image creation process is closed, the image disk won't be created. The other is that the program only detects the disk drives the first time that an image file has been created. If you want to recover the information from another disk drive, you have to reinstall the program.
