Editor's review VolID(Disk Drives Serial Modifier)
While Windows 2000 and its successors give you the ability to change labels on disk volumes, they do not allow you to change volume IDs. If you are interested in changing the volume ID, then you will need to use VolID. This handy tool will help you to change the serial numbers on floppy and hard disk drives that are in either FAT or NTFS. When you want to use the program, you should ensure that you close all running applications first. VolID is compatible with Windows 98 onwards, and you need at least 20MB disk space and 64MB RAM in order to install it.
