Editor's review Immersive Explorer
Immersive Explorer is an alternative to Windows Explorer, focusing on content and not navigation levels. Its design is to eliminate the need to have several clicks and strokes to do something as simple as looking at a picture. No more going through several windows or applications needlessly. You get local browsing, hash calcs, audio player, fast thumbnail rendering, multiple features for pic views – zooming by clicks or single keystrokes, up and down movement with zoom. Network connection and accessing has some limitations, such as posting a file outside of your local Explorer drive storage. Limited to local storage for picture thumbnail display as an option. Unable to do so on network connected files areas. Noticeable lessening of navigational clicks for menu opening and selections as actions are more direct on the visible files. Identifies this approach to file navigation and access as “immersive”, hence the name.
