Easy Exif Delete. A lot is being said about the need to protect your data online as to protect your personal self and your loved ones, friends, fellow workers, and so on. Hackers and info thieves seek any type on info that a person has and use that info to piece together something that is useful to them or that can be sold or leveraged with some other group of not so nice people. It gets to be a bit more than scary, a bit more than crazy what some people will do with someone else’s info. So, what’s the point? When you take digital pictures your pictures typically has info attached to the picture. This info is called metadata, and can include date, time, and location of the picture taken. This info is mixed with technical info about your camera, settings, lens used, light, orientations, so on and the like. This collection of info, across any number of pictures you might take while on a trip, on a vacation, on a holiday stay, on any of the places you may go, can be a portrayal of your habits, your likes, favorite things to do, favorite places to go. This info, this metadata, is called “exif”. When you store your pictures on your machine or download to your mobile device(s), EXIF data goes with it. What if you get hacked? What if you lose your mobile device? What exposure about you and family and friends is now in the hands of whoever has your property? This tool, Easy Exif Delete will strip all, and it does mean “ALL” of the exif data on any photo / file you run through it. It does not pick and choose, nor give you the option to choose the parts of data to delete. It is all or nothing. But, compare that to your security if you share photos.
