Editor's review WinContig
WinContig will defragment your PC without creating any kind of registry entries and install directories. This program is a stand-alone program and it is easy to use. It can quickly defragment files without defragmenting the entire disk. WinContig has an option of grouping files into profiles and also an option of controlling the programs operations with the help of optional command line switches. WinContig does not require additional DLL or installation as it is a standalone program and it is not dependable on any other factor. It is easy to start working with it, as you only need to extract the content of the ZIP file to any targeted folder. WinContig is free for both commercial and personal usage. WinContig can be used on operating systems like Windows 2000, Vista, XP and 7. Users of Windows 2000, Vista, XP and 7, must be logged in as administrators with full right, so the program can work properly. New changes in 1.15 version of the program are: • Added the option of selecting a single item from the upper panel of the main window • Option to defragment or analyze single targets • Option of selecting the list of the most recently used profiles All these features were made as per user request.
Usually most of us use the Windows’ Disk Defragmenter to defragment our disks. Defragmentation process removes unnecessary, unused and unwanted files from our disks. As a result the disk space increases and so does the performance and speed of our disks. But the Windows’ Disk Defragmenter is quite a slow program and takes much time for the process. But with the WinContig 1.15 you can quickly defragment disks. It is a stand-alone program which doesn’t require any installation. You just extract the zip file in the folder you want to defragment and then run the program. It supports all Windows version up to Windows 7.
