Editor's review KeyPass
Keypass boasts of being a versatile password manager which can type the passwords for you. And unlike the common password managers which need the user to drag and drop or cut and paste in order to enter the passwords, this password manager will actually do the typing for you by just pressing the user defined ‘hot key’. What this simply means is that it is capable of working with any application or browser and this includes terminal emulators, web browsers and even corporate services. You no longer have to limit yourself to just Internet Explorer. All your sensitive information will be stored by KeyPass in its encrypted database. This info will be encrypted by use of 448- bit blowfish logarithm with the information contained in the database being unlocked by use of a master password. This means that you are the only person who is able to access your secret info like credit card numbers, passwords, and sensitive documents and PIN numbers. You can install KeyPass on an external storage device like the keychain size USB flash drive. Keypass is different from other password managers which write the configuration information on Windows registry as it stores all data in an encrypted database and it is capable of running without being installed first. So, regardless of where you go, you can be sure that you will be carrying your sensitive information with you. You just need to get the device plugged in any PC and all the passwords and information will be accessed instantly. For enterprise administrators out there, KeyPass is a perfect program for distributing the passwords to users. Instead of the administrator forcing the users to remember the passwords, they can simply be stored in the KeyPass with the users being assigned a read only password. As such, users are able to make use of the information contained in the KeyPass without being able to modify it. KeyPass comes with a free edition which contains all the features that the Standard Edition has with the only exception being that only a maximum of 10 entries can be added to the database.
