Editor's review KillProcess

KillProcess program icon

KillProcess A utility that runs in any Win 7, 8, or XP Op system, and is for the benefit of your system only – it kills designated system processes. You can use it to investigate the process and its existing impact, then decide whether or not to apply the kill command. Any process, service, or app can be immediately terminated by using the kill on it. It has a small resource demand, well inline to Win 7 and 8 requirements for such utilities. You can easily identify processes with KillProcess as it numbers these and holds that number for as long as that process is running. You can initially be gentle and tell the process to close down as normal using the Close Message feature. If that does not do the deed, then you can apply the TerminateProcess. You have the option to do a single process kill or apply the kill to several processes at the same time. As a part of the investigation process you will receive what the KillProcess calls Enhanced Information. This gives you all of the possible information that your system can provide about the one or more processes you are evaluating. You get a log of close and kill commands and results. You are made aware of specific processes initiating and running. You are told when a process or processes are essentially to the proper running of your system. You need to be very aware that when you issue a ‘close’ or a ‘kill’ it is going to happen. If you kill a critical process you can force an immediate reboot.
