Editor's review PCBoost

PCBoost program icon

Just as the name suggests PCBoost? is software that boosts your PCs functions. It allows programs that require a lot of power to run faster and more efficiently than ever, Programs like do photo and video editing, allow games, video and music to be played require more processing power than others. PCBoost? allows such programs to run at faster speeds without you having to upgrade on your hardware. Most CPUs are capable of functioning at a higher level but programming lets them only provide a small portion of the power to each program. PCBoost? taps into that resource to allow you make better and faster use of your CPU. The program checks constantly on which programs are in active use and directs the CPU to provide more power to them. This means as long as the user has several programs running, the one running on top is given priority so that the task can be completed faster. If the user switches focus to another prom then PCBoost? has the CPU divert more power to the active program. In this way PCBoost? is making better use of the multi-core processors used in the manufacture of most PCs. Most operating systems do not engage as many of the multi-core processors as they should. By engaging more of the processors, PCBoost? allows other running programs to run at normal capacity while the program that is in the foreground is given higher priority and more power. This means most PC users are able to get the most out of their computers and not have to invest in upgraded ones just yet. Those whose machines are running slow will be amazed at how much faster they will be able to get work done.

It's a con!! nothing more!!..it's 'supposed' to do things that most OS's do anyway:- prioritize the resourcses of certain programs. If you wanna upgrade the performance of your machine, then put what you would pay for this, towards more memory, better G.card etc..buy cold hardware, NOT warm softpoo!!..And why does Christine feel obliged to stick her oar in more than once? yes, you told us once you liked it and suspect you're not all the ticket, either.
